Object Remover

Free · Private · Full resolution

Remove text from an image, free

AI model loads on first use (~28 MB, cached afterwards).

0×0px · Paint over anything, press Enter. Shortcuts: B / E / H, [ ], Ctrl+Z. Your photo never leaves this device.

Text has a habit of appearing where you do not want it: a caption burned into a meme, a label on a screenshot, a street sign that distracts from a travel shot, or a phone number on a picture you want to reuse. Object Remover lets you paint over the words and replace them with a believable background.

Everything runs locally in your browser. The AI model is downloaded once, then your images are processed on your own device, so even sensitive screenshots never leave your computer or phone. There is no signup, no limit on how many images you clean, and no watermark on the result.

Please only remove text from images you own or have permission to edit. The tool is meant for tidying your own photos, designs and screenshots, not for stripping credits or copyright notices from someone else's work.

A good habit is to keep a copy of the original image alongside the cleaned version. If you later need the text back, or want to re-translate a caption, you will still have it. Object Remover never overwrites your file; it always creates a new download, and the undo history lets you step back through up to fifteen removals during a session.

How to do it in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Load the image

Open, drop or paste the picture that contains the text. The demo above shows white text over a landscape you can practise on.

  2. 2

    Brush over every letter

Pick a brush a little thicker than the text and paint across each line. Cover outlines, drop shadows and glow effects too, since they are part of the text.

  3. 3

    Remove and check

Press Remove painted area, zoom in to inspect, and touch up any faint remains with a second pass before downloading.

Tips & limits

  • Text on plain or gradient backgrounds such as sky, walls or paper disappears almost perfectly.
  • For long paragraphs, work one line at a time so the AI always has real background nearby.
  • Use the Eraser to trim your mask if you accidentally painted over something you want to keep.
  • Save as PNG when cleaning screenshots or graphics so sharp edges stay crisp.

Limits: Text that sits on top of detailed, unique content, like a face or a printed pattern, cannot be truly recovered; the AI invents a plausible fill rather than the original pixels. Big blocks of text covering most of an image will also look painted. For document scans, re-typing is often better than inpainting.

Why use Object Remover for this

Most free object removers upload your picture to a server, shrink it, limit how many edits you can make, or ask you to sign up before you can download. Object Remover takes a different approach. The AI model runs inside your browser, so your photo never leaves your device, the result keeps your original resolution, and there is no account, no daily cap and no watermark. It is part of the TryImager family of free, private, browser-based image tools, built and maintained by an independent developer in Bengaluru, India.

Frequently asked questions

Can I remove a watermark with this?+

Only from images you own or are licensed to edit. Removing watermarks from other people's work to avoid paying for it is unfair to creators and may be illegal where you live.

Does it work on screenshots?+

Yes. Screenshots with flat backgrounds are among the easiest cases. Download as PNG to keep text and interface edges sharp.

Why do I still see a faint outline after removal?+

Usually a glow or shadow was outside the painted area. Undo the removal, paint a little wider so the whole effect is covered, and run it again.

Is there a limit on image size?+

Images up to 4096 pixels on the long side are processed at full size on computers, and 2560 pixels on iPhone and iPad. Larger images are scaled down to that size when opened.

Does the tool read or store my text?+

No. There is no text recognition and nothing is stored. The AI only sees pixels inside the area you paint, and everything happens in your browser tab.
